Chess, a game of skill dating back to the 6th - 11th centuries, was designed to be played as if you were on the battlefield itself, two opposing sides with the objective being one king must surrender. Since its origin, the modern day version of chess began in the 1500\'s, with the first tournament taking place in London in the mid 1800s.
